The Federal Ministry of the Interior has condemned right-wing extremist patrols on the Brandenburg border with Poland.
"The position is very clear: the state has the monopoly on violence," said a spokesman for the ministry on Monday in Berlin.
“In our constitutional state, there is no room for vigilante justice or official behavior by private individuals.
Border protection is the sole responsibility of the state. "
Berlin - The local police have the situation under control.
The Brandenburg police took action against right-wing extremists who had come together on Sunday night for a so-called border crossing to take action against migrants.
The officials tracked down around 50 suspects who, according to the police, had apparently followed a call by the far-right splinter party The Third Way.
During the check, the police also reportedly seized pepper sprays, a bayonet, a machete and batons.
Criminal proceedings were initiated against their owners, including the use of symbols of anti-constitutional organizations.
