Money placed in the budget: Poing wants to move ahead with the construction of another soccer field

Poing already has three grass pitches and one artificial turf pitch, plus a football pitch and a soccer five pitch.

Another soccer field is to be added soon.

Not everyone likes that.

Poing - The football department of TSV Poing has almost 800 members - according to the club, capacity will soon be reached.

That said CSU council member Veronika Reischl in the most recent session of the local parliament.

She herself volunteers in the football department, particularly in the youth field.

In order to continue to offer all children and adults the necessary training and play opportunities in the future, the CSU parliamentary group has submitted an application to add a soccer field to the sports grounds in Poingen.

Suggestion: a hybrid turf pitch, playable around nine months a year, the middle ground between natural and artificial turf.

The CSU estimates the cost of the field at around 1.2 million euros.

Poing: lack of understanding about not stopping admission

"We do not want a freeze on admission, otherwise the new footballers will go somewhere else," said Reischl.

Wolfgang Spieth (FDP) criticized this statement, saying that other sports clubs also had to make do with limited space.

He asked why an exception should be made in football without hesitation.

If at the same time, for example, the athletes are still waiting for the lighting system in the stadium, he noted in this context.

That is "unfair".

Christina Landgraf (Greens) sees it similarly, who reported that, for example, children's gymnastics groups do have admission stops due to a lack of sufficient training times and opportunities.

Time for expansion of the sports center unclear

Matthias Andres (FWG), on the other hand, said that the discussion was not about building a new soccer field for TSV Poing, "but for Poing".

By that he meant that others could also use the space.

Mayor Thomas Stark (independent) generally supports the demand for another soccer field.

In the expansion plans for the sports center, two new fields are planned anyway.

However, for financial reasons it is unclear when the project will be implemented.

Michael Lanzl (CSU) responded to this and suggested at least one place to be preferred.

Poinger Stadium is to have floodlights

With regard to the floodlight system for the stadium already decided by the municipal council, Stark explained that the construction companies were so busy that no one had responded to the tender for the lighting system.

However, the community still has the project on the radar.

Likewise, the renovation of the tartan track.

So that it wasn't just about a football pitch, Omid Atai (SPD) suggested adding the construction of the boulder wall for climbing that had been planned for some time to the CSU's application.

In addition to the soccer field, there is also a climbing wall

The local council finally decided by a majority to include funds of 50,000 euros in the budget planning for 2022 for the preliminary planning of the soccer field and bouldering wall.

The municipal council then has to make a final decision when the two measures are to be implemented.

In the sports center there is currently a stadium with a soccer field and tartan track (without floodlights, still to be built) as well as two further grass pitches (with floodlights), a soccer field, a soccer five mini pitch and an artificial turf field (also with floodlights).

The latter was completely renovated this year and covered with a new covering (without granules).

According to the municipality of Poing, costs: 610,000 euros.
