A blue car has been parked on the A3 near Erlangen for months.

The owner doesn't care to dispose of it.

Such cases are not uncommon.

Erlangen - A car has been standing between Neuses and the A3 approach for months.

The owner was asked to remove it - but does not investigate.

Time and again, officials have to deal with junk cars that have not been properly disposed of.

Erlangen: A parked car no longer has insurance cover

What's up with the blue car that has almost grown into the field in which it was parked?

"The car was checked by the police as part of the veil manhunt out of the flowing traffic," explains the city of Erlangen * on request from

nordbayern.de

.

During the inspection it was found that the car no longer had insurance cover, whereupon the driver had to park his car immediately.

The license plate is still attached to the car, but the license plates have been canceled.

Erlangen: Car will probably be disposed of soon

Nothing has happened since then.

Because the owner did not collect and dispose of the car.

Since the car was still fully functional and it could be assumed that it would be allowed to restart, the police * initially waited.

The Office for Environmental Protection and Energy Issues received a notice in July.

This then asked the owner to remove his car.

"There was no reaction to this, so it can now be assumed that there is no longer any interest in the car and that there is a 'willingness to dispose of'", the city says.

Therefore, the car will probably be disposed of shortly.

Erlangen: A parked car is not an isolated case

It happens again and again that owners simply park their vehicles and leave them behind instead of properly disposing of them.

In 2020 alone, the city of Erlangen had 186 vehicles.

Of these, 52 owners could not be identified.

The reason: Most of the time, the owners remove the license plates before they park the car.

Parked vehicles are then given a circular, red sticker that asks the owners to remove them and gives them an ultimatum.
