"Maybe you won’t get there, my heart hurts." The 69-year-old taxi driver surnamed Wong was driving along Prince Edward Road East towards Mong Kok at 5:33 am today (25th). After being able to complete the itinerary, unexpectedly, when driving off to the Regal Oriental Hotel, the taxi suddenly ran into the water horse.
The taxi driver was rushed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for emergency treatment and was later certified dead. The police appealed to witnesses to provide information.
Police said they are investigating a fatal traffic accident in Kowloon City today (25th) in which a 69-year-old man died.
At 5:33 am, the 69-year-old man (Huang Xhua) was driving a taxi along Prince Edward Road east to west. When he approached a hotel, he was reported to have lost control and crashed into the water horse.
The taxi driver had no apparent injuries. He was in a coma and was sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment. He was certified dead at 7:08 am on the same day.
A 47-year-old male passenger in the taxi suffered minor injuries and was consciously sent to Queen Elizabeth Hospital for treatment.
The Special Investigation Team of the Transport Department of West Kowloon Region is investigating the case.
