Cairo-Sana
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi announced this evening the abolition of the state of emergency in Egypt.
And Sisi wrote in a blog post on his personal Facebook page that “Egypt has become, thanks to its great people and loyal men, an oasis of security and stability in the region, and from here it has decided, for the first time in years, to cancel the extension of the state of emergency throughout the country.”
Al-Sisi considered that the Egyptian people are the real maker of this decision over the past years, with their sincere and sincere participation in all development and construction efforts, noting the “heroes that Egypt’s martyrs played in order to establish security and stability in the country.”
It is noteworthy that Egypt declared a state of emergency after two attacks that targeted two churches in the cities of Tanta and Alexandria in April 2017, killing 45 people and wounding dozens of others. This state was extended several times in light of the continuation of terrorist attacks in several areas, especially in Sinai.
