Switzerland is evidently playing a special role again in Europe for the 2021/22 winter season.
It is likely that skiing will be possible here without a 3G regulation.
Last year, Swiss ski areas remained open despite the corona pandemic - even though other Alpine countries such as Germany or Austria * kept their slopes closed.
In the coming season, too, they will obviously not orientate themselves towards their neighbors.
While the 3G rule will be used in Austria and probably also in Germany, in Switzerland there is apparently no obligation to provide evidence for the time being.
Skiing in Switzerland: Probably no general 3G requirement
After the Swiss Cable Car Association (SBS) rushed ahead last week (October 19) and announced that a 3G rule in the mountain railways was unnecessary, Patrick Mathys from the Federal Office of Public Health (BAG) warned that the Federal Council would decide on it and not the cable car association.
Therefore, there was initially confusion as to what should actually apply on the Swiss slopes in the coming season.

However, the cable car association, the health department and the Ministry of the Interior agree that
no further measures are currently necessary with regard to the ski areas
, as the
Neue Züricher Zeitung (NZZ) has
learned. Therefore, no decision by the Federal Council is necessary. For ski vacationers, this means that there will be
no 3G compulsory on the Swiss slopes for the time being
. According to the
NZZ
, Mathys is not sure whether implementation is feasible at all
. The epidemiologist Milo Puhan also stated that a
temporary waiver of 3G certificates would be justifiable
. However, should the number of corona cases rise again to a higher level, waiving the 3G rule is "less advisable".

The Fideriser Heuberge in the canton of Graubünden, for example, rely on a 3G rule.
