"The market council selected these three companies as award winners in the knowledge that successful companies are an essential contribution to ensuring that we can live well in Peißenberg," said Zellner.
Award-winning furniture store celebrates its 100th anniversary this year
Economic advisor Jürgen Forstner gave the laudation for the furniture store with kitchen studio and joinery "Palmberger": This year the company, whose history began in 1921 with the purchase of the property on Forster Straße by Franz Palmberger senior, is celebrating its 100th anniversary. At first the business activity was limited to the carpentry, in 1957 the first 300 square meter furniture shop was opened and with this the second mainstay of the company was set with the trading of furniture. In 1999, the current furniture store with kitchen studio with an exhibition area of over 2000 square meters on Kranebitterstrasse in Peißenberg went into operation.
Almost seven years ago, Franz Palmberger handed over management of the company, which currently employs around 20 people, to his sons Thomas and Martin Palmberger.

“I am really happy that you decided to come,” said Ursula Einberger, who is also the economics officer of the market town, to award winner Margarete Maar, who had initially canceled. "Your small stationery shop is part of the Peißenberg village," said Einberger. Maar took over the stationery business from her aunt 66 years ago at the age of 18. At the time, she needed a special permit for this because, according to the legal situation at the time, she was not yet of legal age, said the laudator.
Since then, Maar has opened her stationery store every morning at 7:30 a.m. before the schools open and is there for her customers around 50 hours a week. Maar, who has sold the school supplies to generations of Peißenbergers, does not know of any company holidays. “Anyone who walks in your door is immersed in a homely world,” said Einberger. There are not only stationery of all kinds but also calendars and such rarities as edible paper and the vast majority of items such as pens individually. “If you don't have an item, then order it.” Shops like Maar's are not only points of sale but also places of communication.
Because the third Peißenberg economic advisor, Patricia Punzet, could not be present, Christian Quecke praised the third prize winner, "Eichberger Haustechnik".
The family company founded by Robert Eichberger has existed in the market town since 1978.
Son Markus Eichberger followed in his father's footsteps and took over the business at the beginning of 2019.
The move to the current location on Südendstrasse took place in 2018.

Father Robert Eichberger is officially retired, but the retirement has not really worked, said Quecke. Gehrmann organized the event and also won over cyber crime expert Cem Karakaya for an entertaining lecture. After the award ceremony,This year, too, only invited guests came - albeit more than last year - there was a cozy get-together in the foyer of the Tiefstollenhalle - with a corona-sized snack packaged in portions. That is also part of the business award ceremony, said Gehrmann: "The cooperation and the exchange between the entrepreneurs."
