General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, head of the Transitional Sovereign Council in Sudan, announced today the dissolution of the Sovereignty Council and the Ministers and the state of emergency in the country.
Al-Burhan explained in a statement carried by Sudan TV that the armed forces are committed to protecting the interests of the Sudanese people and handing over the leadership of the state to an elected civilian government, and said that a number of steps have been taken, including the dissolution of the Sovereignty and Ministers Councils, the termination of the mandate of state governors and the suspension of work on some articles of the constitutional document.
Al-Burhan added that an independent government of national competencies will be formed, whose tasks will continue until the date of the elections in 2023.
