In recent years, the world of digitization is gaining momentum and almost all traditional areas of shopping are moving to the network.

Ten years ago it might have sounded like a dream or an excerpt from a science fiction movie, but today most of our shopping is done without leaving home.

It can be a small product close to home - like bread from the supermarket - or a large product like a car made overseas.

Consumers understood what business people have long understood: that time is worth money.

Why waste time in traffic jams and queues if you can just walk into your digital store from your mobile device and get the equipment or service we need.

One of the most popular services online today is that offered by computer technicians.

Instead of physically reaching the lab - and carrying the heavy computer in the car - the technicians remotely take over the computer, download antivirus software, scan the hardware and, depending on the problem, fix it easily and efficiently.

Naturally there are areas that take longer to move to the network, such as purchasing tombstones, mourning ceremonies and commemoration, but here too we have witnessed a significant shift in the past year.

For example, the high-tech company MyHeritage, which develops a platform for discovering, preserving and sharing family history, recently completed a digitization project of all cemeteries in Israel.

With the completion of the project, which lasted five years, Israel became the first country in the world where all the tombstones are documented and accessible for Internet search, including photos, locations, transcripts of texts that appear on the tomb and more.

In addition, many companies offer a digital commemorative plaque to your loved ones that will stay online forever - with videos, photos and obituaries of family and friends.

Another project in the field of mourning is grave.co.il - the first digital store of its kind that centralizes the field of tombstones and allows you to buy a tombstone and design it without going through a sales agent during the difficult days of mourning.

The innovative venture was established by the marble man Shai Sharhavani and the Internet entrepreneur Shai Gilboa.

More digital, simpler: this is how a situation is chosen in 2021,

"We are proud to be the pioneers in the field of online tombstone sales," says Gilboa, who came to the field entirely by chance.

"When my aunt died and left no children she was entrusted with the task of getting her a condition. When I started searching the internet I saw that there was not enough information online and all sites invite you to leave a phone and wait for a sales agent call. Anyone who has experienced but closely can understand why "Sales people of all kinds, even if it is an essential need such as purchasing a tombstone. That is why we decided to set up the site that makes order in the field and allows you to get all the details on the tombstones, including prices and exact details. So all you have left is to order and close the deal."

Gilboa estimates that the trend in the field will continue and in ten years most of the tombstones will be purchased online.

"Online shopping trends are only doing good to consumers, they are also getting more information before making a purchase and also at a competitive price."
