Update, 2 p.m .:
- Affected by the evacuation of the established security area (around a private property on Dompfaffenweg in Geretsried) “there should be around 1500 people”. This is reported by Stefan Sonntag, press spokesman for the South Police Headquarters in Rosenheim, to our newspaper. The city of Geretsried even assumes that 2200 to 2300 citizens are affected. According to the police, the following public buildings are available to all residents who have to leave their houses and apartments and are temporarily unable to stay with friends or relatives: the Ratsstuben on Karl-Lederer-Platz, the gym of the Isardammschule and the gym of the middle school at the school center ( Adalbert-Stifter-Strasse).
Sonntag explains: "As soon as the necessary forces of the Bavarian riot police arrive and have been briefed, the evacuation should begin." The police are currently assuming that the evacuation of the security area can begin at around 2 pm.

The police headquarters of Upper Bavaria South in Rosenheim announced in a first press release: On Monday morning, October 25, World War II ammunition was found during construction work on a private property on Dompfaffenweg in Geretsried.
It is a 150 kilogram bomb that contains around 15 to 20 kilograms of explosives.
Removal is not possible, the defusing must take place on site.
The established safety area around the site was determined by the demolition engineer to be around 150 meters.

To clear the affected area, probably in the course of this afternoon, helpers from the fire brigade, police, rescue service and the city of Geretsried are currently being pulled together.
All residents who have to leave the affected area are offered opportunities to stay in public buildings: the gym of the Isardammschule and the council rooms on Karl-Lederer-Platz.
