After attending a party, a young person (16) fell from a bridge in Rhede in the Münsterland region and was seriously injured.
There are no indications of third-party negligence, the police said on Monday.
The reason and course of the accident are unclear, however.
Rhede - The 16-year-old made his way back from the party in front of his friends on Sunday night.
He fell several meters from the bridge running over a federal highway and then erred across the road.
An acquaintance had picked him up with serious injuries and called the rescue workers.
A rescue helicopter brought the youth to a special clinic.
