The first performance of the Pöckinger brass band on the weekend in Beccult, which opened in November 2019, was a complete success.

After the planned spring concert 2020 was canceled due to the lockdown and no concert has been possible since then, the board had spared no effort to keep its people involved.

Pöcking

- The musicians were given the sheet music to practice at home, everything nicely packed in a bag with snacks and beer, as Martin Engesser said again at the “Rendezvous in autumn” on Saturday. And so it was a happy reunion with almost 50 musicians who had rehearsed under strict conditions over the past few weeks, and around 200 Pöckingers. Everyone could see that they had longed for such an evening for a long time. And it was a good opportunity to finally honor Günther Moser, who has been actively involved in the brass band since 1961, ie for 60 years, “with advice and action”. In addition to the badge of honor, Barbara Baumer presented him with the photo book “Brass Band total”. Alexander Lauterbach, who learned a new instrument “in his late 40s” and is already on stage, was also mentioned in particular.

As always, the musical program was varied and colorful, entertainingly moderated by Ludwig Gansneder, who was joking, sometimes humorous, sometimes rough and hearty, sometimes lyrical. He led through the evening with the young Anna Wolff. She is a member of the board and, together with her young colleague Sebastian Scheck, guarantees the future of the Pöckinger brass band. The two were able to welcome numerous councilors and the third mayor Wolfram Staufenberg, as well as the newly elected honorary citizen Ameli Erhard as well as numerous representatives of associations and the Foundation for Pöcking.

Conductor Markus Maier, who never overworks his wind instruments, put together a very entertaining mix of waltzes, marches and dances.

He just knows how to get everything out of his musicians.

You can see him from behind with his full body effort: The brass music, that's his luck.

Swinging his hips in his lederhosen, he carried everyone away - with polka, march and waltz.

He led the audience into the woods, where hunting horns sounded, and into their homeland on the dance floor, he made everyone dream and carried them off into fairytale worlds.

When Stephan Salvermoser drummed a spoon polka on his bare thighs, the hall was over the moon.

At the end there was a melancholy “Good evening, good night” and the promise that we would see each other again soon - for the Advent concert on December 18th and 19th.

The band is happy about every new member - from elementary school age.

If you don't play an instrument and don't have one at home, you can borrow one and get lessons.
