A group of 35 Republican senators, led by Bill Gertie, have introduced a bill to protect the Jerusalem Embassy law.
The original law was proposed in 1995 in the United States, and was intended to implement and apply the construction of a U.S. embassy in Jerusalem. The new bill, however, comes to prevent the Biden administration's intention to open a Palestinian consulate in Jerusalem.
Senator Gerti said: "I am sorry that the Biden administration insists on making moves that divide the United States and Israel, with our two countries focused on stopping the regime that supports Iran's terrorism from becoming nuclear, as well as the fight against growing threats from Hezbollah, Hamas and other terrorist groups. Supported by Iran.
"This is while strengthening and expanding the historic Abrahamic Accords, which have truly increased peace in the Middle East. The Trump administration has kept its promise to move the U.S. Embassy to Jerusalem, the eternal and indivisible capital of the Jewish state.
"Congress must do everything in its power to strengthen our position."
