A ship collision accident occurred at Mui Wo Wharf. At 8 o'clock in the evening today (26th), a new passenger ferry from Central to Mui Wo collided when it was approaching Mui Wo Wharf for berth and its bow was damaged.
Five passengers on board were injured, initially 2 men and 3 women. Fortunately, all were slightly injured.
The firefighter received the report and arrived at the scene for rescue and sent two ambulances to the scene to take the injured to hospital.
Witness Mrs. Wu was on board at the time. She told that the ferry was preparing to dock at the time of the incident. She was looking at her mobile phone and didn't know it, but suddenly there was a loud noise and a collision occurred when the ferry was suspected of docking.
She described the force of the collision as being quite violent. "I feel shocked to see many passengers carrying their luggage with their backs and falling to the front. A few people had gotten up to disembark and all fell into the sun."
Wu Tai continued to point out that it is known that one side of the ferry involved suspected an engine failure, which caused the hull to rotate for a while while it was berthing, and failed to align with the position of the pier, causing a collision.
She witnessed at least 5-6 passengers falling down on the ship. Some of them could get up on their own, but some were lying on the floor of the cabin, waiting for the hull to stabilize. After that, some passengers called the police to the police.
The ferry finally berthed, and Wu Tai left the scene after disembarking.
Suspected mechanical failure caused ship collision

The remaining passengers have disembarked.
