South Korea's Celltrion Pharmaceutical Company has announced that its smart self-test kits for the Corona virus, which allow anyone to detect infection with the virus at home, have received approval for use from the US Food and Drug Administration.
Yonhap news agency quoted the company as saying that the kits use an antibody that specifically binds to the Corona virus and detects infection within 15 minutes, which is most appropriate to identify acute or early infection of the virus.
The Celtrion self-test kits have also received emergency approval for use by other countries, including South Korea, and are also in use in several European countries.
