We have not yet had time to get excited about the fact that Google's voice assistant has started speaking Hebrew in part. We now find that the voice assistant of Amazon - Alexa has also started learning the language.
Today, Alexa offers translation from English to Hebrew on her devices in a natural language and not in a metallic voice (as you can see in the video).
If Alexa is asked if she understands Hebrew, a message is received that she does not yet, but she invites the user to use her new ability to translate.
In recent years and very late, we see that Amazon is paying attention to consumers in Israel, it has launched the Amazon Prime Video service here, including translations of series and movies into Hebrew and it also offers a full interface in Hebrew.
Amazon's shopping service is also available in a Hebrew interface and with free shipping (with certain restrictions).
Despite all this good news, it is impossible not to feel disappointed that Alexa's app is not available in local app stores and consumers who want it, need to find indirect solutions.
