British MPs have warned of the effects of their country's withdrawal from the European Union (Brexit) on scientific research programs in Britain.
The British Independent newspaper reported that the warnings came at a time when a report by the European Audit Committee revealed that British academic institutions are frozen from major projects in the continent of Europe, while differences and controversy continue between London and Brussels.
Despite the European Union’s temporary approval last December for Britain to participate in its new research and space programs, including the Horizon Europe Fund and the Copernicus Earth Observation Project, the final approval from Brussels is linked to the results of the Northern Ireland Protocol negotiations.
A recent opinion poll revealed that 96 percent of Britons believe that the Brexit process did not go well, and that the problems Britain is currently experiencing, including the fuel crisis, are the best evidence of that.
