Corona continues to pick up in Bavaria.

The incidences are skyrocketing.

Now the cases in the hospitals are also increasing.

A Munich expert knows why.

Munich - The number of infections in Bavaria continues to rise.

The top five of the RKI hot spot list occupy regions in the Free State.

And the number of patients in the clinics is getting closer and closer to the critical threshold values.

Will the protective measures against Corona * be tightened again in November?

A Munich expert has identified the infection drivers and at the same time explains the solution to the problem.

Corona in Bavaria: The top five hotspots are in the Free State

Bavaria is approaching an incidence of 200 on Monday, October 25th. The Robert Koch Institute * (RKI) gives a value of 179.1. This puts the Free State in third place in Germany (110.1). Only Saxony (196.8) and Thuringia (224.3) have a higher value. However, if you break the numbers down to the individual municipalities and districts, Bavaria is the undisputed leader. Mühldorf am Inn cracked the 500 mark just a few days ago. The district in the southeast of the Free State was again in first place on Monday with a value of 522.8. This is followed by the districts of Traunstein (489.1), Berchtesgadener Land (480.6), Straubing-Bogen (457.0) and Miesbach (434.2).

The rise in patient numbers in Bavarian clinics is also worrying. According to the State Office for Health and Food Safety (LGL), there have been 405 hospitalizations in connection with a Covid 19 disease in the last seven days. A few weeks ago the number was still around 200. If 1200 cases are reached in a week, the hospital traffic light switches to yellow. Then stricter protective measures will take effect again, such as the return of the FFP2 mask requirement *. The intensive care beds are also filling up more and more with corona patients. Just a few days ago there were around 200 patients with severe courses, but today there are 326. This is based on the figures from the DIVI (German Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine). Should 600 patients be reached here, the traffic light changes to red.

Corona in Bavaria: Munich doctor sees younger and unvaccinated patients in the clinic

The virus rages particularly violently among the young and the unvaccinated.

This is also confirmed by the Munich expert Dr.

Christoph Spinner opposite the

BR

.

At his clinic on the right of the Isar in the state capital, mainly patients between the ages of 30 and 50 are currently being treated.

This was completely different in the first three waves.

"This week the youngest patient in the Klinikum rechts der Isar was 32 years old, last week a 27-year-old patient was treated," said the senior physician.

Spinner notices that more and more of the young Covid sufferers are also going through a difficult course.

Many of them have no previous illnesses.

According to the expert, the reason is a lack of vaccination.

In addition, the overwhelming majority of patients in intensive care units are unvaccinated, according to Spinner.

This can also be proven with numbers.

For example, the incidence in Munich * for unvaccinated people is 336. For vaccinated people it is just 36.
