Saturday around 11:40 pm, four members of a Republican Security Company (CRS) on foot patrol in the district of Saint-Michel, in the city center, were alerted by the noise of a Volkswagen SUV
"traveling at high speed"
in a one-way street, with
"at least two people on board",
according to the prosecution. The police then approached the vehicle, blocked by another car, for a possible check. But the driver reversed and maneuvered
"to deliberately charge" on them "in lightning acceleration".
Two CRS then opened fire in the direction of the vehicle, which continued its course to the edge of the Garonne, a few hundred meters further.
There, the
police
, arrested a Bordelais,
"well known to the police and justice"
, injured in the neck and who
"tried to hide behind reeds".
The other individual or individuals present in the passenger compartment are currently being sought.
The judicial information must make it possible to determine the responsibilities of each person in the car, explained the prosecution.
Another investigation is being carried out by the IGPN into the use of their weapon by the police.
