The Lions Club won't let Corona get it down: As in the previous year, there is again a charitable Advent calendar campaign this year.

Sales will start next weekend.

Germering

- For the 12th time, the Lions Club is selling its very special Advent calendars this year.

For five euros, buyers secure the chance to win one of a total of 604 prizes with a total value of around 23,000 euros.

This means that despite Corona, the campaign can be carried out to almost the same extent as in pre-pandemic times.

According to coordinator Stefan Hetsch, this is possible because, as in the previous year, almost all sponsors have again made prizes available.

Together with Michael Siegmund and Michael von Unruh, he presented the current action in the town hall.

Mayor Andreas Haas spoke of a remarkable constant: Many things have changed since Corona.

The activities of the Lions club, like those of many other clubs, had been brought to a standstill.

Only the advent calendar was not affected: "That's great."

Hetsch recalled that in the previous year there had been reservations about whether the calendar campaign could be carried out.

As a precaution, the print run was then reduced from 3000 to 2500.

But that quickly turned out to be a mistake: “The calendars were sold out in a very short time.” That's why there are 3,000 pieces again this year.

As in the previous year, the main prize was an e-bike - to his great astonishment, Lions spokesman Siegmund won the bike himself last year and has now made it available again.

Other prizes include a television, travel, vouchers and two half-year subscriptions to the Münchner Merkur.

From December 1st, Merkur will publish the winning numbers every day.

The sale starts this Saturday at the weekly market in front of the town hall.

There are also 13 permanent sales outlets.

Among other things, there are the calendars in the town hall and in the city library.

The proceeds go to social causes.
