2021-10-26T05:26:30.987Z

Although we have been witnessing the severe attacks experienced by reality participants in Israel on social networks for more than a decade, many are still standing in line to audition for these programs. • The question is, why? Is this the "it won't happen to me" syndrome?

Hi, you, those who are currently longing to participate in a reality show, who are eagerly waiting to audition for "Big Brother", "Survival" or "Wedding at First Sight", who already imagine the publicity and fame that will fall on your part, the offers that will flow and the big money that will come if Just manage to flicker on the small screen and reveal your stunning personality, maybe consider for a moment again.

Because most likely your fate will be the same as the fate of Itamar Ami from the current season of "Wedding at First Sight" or the fate of Amir Zehavi from the previous season of matchmaking reality or the fate of Ella Ayalon in "Survival" and Rami Vered in "Big Brother" - Late, and with it will come harsh and emotional reactions, severe attacks on your personality and insulting nicknames from the masses of Beit Yisrael.

Because it's actually the deal, and it's not clear how reality contestants do not understand it.

There is no reality editor who aims to make you holy, wise and kind-hearted.

It does not bring ratings.

What brings ratings are clashes, outbursts of anger, petty behaviors and controversial statements.

And to get it out of you - they will do anything.

And yet, even though we have a decade and a half of reality shows under our belt, and even though the shaming on duty comes like a Swiss watch every season and every show - many continue to fantasize about participating in these shows and do their best to reach them.

And the question was asked why?

Is this the "it won't happen to me" syndrome?

Is it the belief that I will be the one to succeed well even if most of them go bad?

Do those who line up for auditions understand that the more likely chance is that they will become ridiculed and ridiculed on social media at best and the enemies of the people at worst?

Have they not seen the difficult things they have written and said about dozens of reality contestants over the years in Israel?

Suffered severe attacks while participating in "Big Brother".

How many reality comedians did participating in the program really pay off for? How many of them received campaigns, TV shows or stayed in the consciousness for a long time? On the other hand, how many of them disappeared into the abyss of oblivion or suffered severe mental damage? How many of them have had to deal with the fact that everyone in this country has something to say to them, and that it is usually not a positive review? How many of them had to absorb curses and read outrageous nicknames about themselves? There is no doubt at all that the number belonging to the second group is tens of percent greater than the number belonging to the first group, and yet, everyone wants to go to reality.

Just before you embark on this path of becoming famous in reality, you might think for a moment.

Your chances of getting out there "stunning" are almost non-existent.

Take a look at what Itamar is going through from "Hatonami" these days.

I do not know the man and I have no idea who he is but it is clear to me that he did not imagine that this is how he would come out on the show.

I am convinced that in his pre - show dreams he saw himself becoming a beloved star and not the focus of severe attacks on his personality.

What exactly did he need it for?

Keep in mind that reality brings with it publicity, and publicity may sometimes bring with it money and fame, but it also brings with it a not-so-simple side effect: as celebrities you become a stationary target.

Everyone has something to say about you, and to be fair is also their right.

You have put yourself on the stake - now the fire will come.

It's only a matter of time.

So if you do not feel like this fire - leave you out of reality.

A gray life in the darkness of anonymity may seem less magical but they have an advantage: the lynching will not come.

And it's cool.
