There are no kindergarten or crèche places in Egenhofen.

The next few years you can make ends meet with temporary arrangements.

In the long term, however, a new children's home is to be built - with a buffer for the influx that is to be expected through the new development areas.

Egenhofen -

It has been clear since this summer that childcare will be tight.

That is why an emergency daycare group went into operation in the crumb box in Egenhofen in September.

For the childcare year 2022/23, there will be a particularly shortage of places in the kindergarten area.

An additional group is required.

And with new development areas such as in Poigern and Pischertshofen, even more spaces will be needed in the long term.

The local council looked for solutions at a closed meeting.

Most important finding: A new children's house is to be built.

The committee has now unanimously approved this.

Six groups could be accommodated there.

However, there are still many questions to be clarified, such as the location.

Multiple options

A plot of land in the outside area north of the crumb box is up for discussion.

Another option is on Kahrstrasse in Unterschweinbach.

And Aufkirchen, where the church children's home St. Georg is located, is also conceivable.

Whether there are ways to expand this should be clarified with the church.

The committee agreed to first examine all three locations, although there was a tendency towards Unterschweinbach - because of the central location in the larger community.

In addition, 30 children from Unterschweinbach are currently visiting the crumb box in Egenhofen.

It is also still unclear whether the new children's home will be a communal one - like the crumb box - or whether it should be taken over by a private sponsor.

Due to the additional work, the administration recommends a private agency.

It will be a while before the new children's home becomes a reality.

Therefore a medium-term solution had to be found.

This provides for containers to be set up north of the crumb box.

From September 2022, the required kindergarten group and the emergency crèche group can move in there.

The latter is currently housed in the dining room of the crumb box, and the daycare supervisors only tolerate this for one year.

The possibility of adding to the children's home was also examined.

Structurally, however, that would be difficult.

In addition, the facility would have to be outsourced during construction.

The local council voted 10: 4 against this solution.

Where the boys and girls come from

There are currently two children's houses in the community: St. Georg in Aufkirchen and the Krümelkiste in Egenhofen.

The latter started operations in 2014.

But soon there was no longer enough space, so the old kindergarten rooms in the community center were reactivated.

107 girls and boys are currently visiting the crumb box.

34 come from Egenhofen, 30 from Unterschweinbach.

The rest is spread over the districts of Poigern, Oberweikertshofen, Waltenhofen, Wenigmünchen and Aufkirchen.

62 children are cared for in the St. Georg children's home in Aufkirchen.

23 are from the district, 20 from Unterschweinbach.

Eleven come from Pischertshofen and eight from Wenigmünchen, Rammertshofen, Waltershofen and Englertshofen.
