Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi announced during the night (Monday to Tuesday) that the state of emergency declared in the country in 2017 will be lifted for the first time in years.
This was reported by the Reuters news agency.
In a post posted by the Egyptian president on Facebook, he referred to the expected move and wrote that "Egypt has become an oasis of security and stability in the region. Therefore, it was decided - for the first time in years - to abolish the extension of emergency in all regions of the country."
The state of emergency in the country was first declared in April 2017, after a series of deadly attacks on churches.
Since then, and despite the Egyptians' improvements in their security mechanisms, the declaration of a state of emergency has been renewed every three months.
It should be noted that al-Sisi's declaration does not reach the empty space and it takes place while in her neighbor, Sudan, a military coup is taking place.
As part of the military coup in the country, in which the army took control of the country's centers, senior government officials were arrested - including the prime minister - which provoked a widespread wave of genocide around the world.
It should also be noted that during the night the Reuters news agency reported that seven people were found dead in the wave of demonstrations now taking place across the country and at least one hundred people were injured.
