Saxony-Anhalt's Environment Minister Armin Willingmann (SPD) says he wants to do without an internal combustion engine in a new company vehicle.
“There is no question that government members should travel to appointments in times of advancing climate change with the most efficient, climate-friendly company vehicles possible.
That is why I intend to switch to a purely electric vehicle at the next opportunity, ”said Willingmann.
Magdeburg - Currently, the Minister mainly uses a hybrid vehicle as a company car, which was also available to his predecessor Claudia Dalbert (Greens).
In June, the law to promote cleaner and more efficient road vehicles came into force, which the Bundestag had previously passed.
Since August, public clients have had to adhere to specific quotas in terms of minimum targets for the procurement of clean vehicles, the Willingmann ministry confirmed on request.
In Saxony-Anhalt, the environment, infrastructure and finance ministries want to develop appropriate guidelines for this in the next few weeks.
