The police checked a man on suspicion of a violation of the Animal Welfare Act and made a surprising number of other incidental discoveries.
For example, a self-made container similar to a pipe bomb and possibly explosives were found in the house of the 42-year-old in Heppenheim (Bergstrasse district) on Tuesday, the police said.
Heppenheim - Small amounts of narcotics such as marijuana and many storage media were also seized.
Originally, the search warrant was applied for on the suspicion that the resident might violate the animal welfare law.
About a dozen cats currently live with him.
In this regard, however, there was nothing to complain about, it said.
