The IDF's Day for the Empowerment of Physical Culture and Combat Fitness took place today (Monday) in the city of Ashkelon. The General Staff and commanders of the rank of lieutenant colonel and above in operational positions from all over the IDF, along with about 3,000 kindergarten children, schools and all the educational frameworks in the city who were present at the place.
As part of the championship, the commanders held a joint run and trained in various sports, including: running, navigation, power stations, triathlon, spinning, swimming, Pilates and Krav Maga.
At the end of the day, an award ceremony was held for the units that won the IDF Combat Fitness Championship, which took place about two weeks ago.

Chief of Staff Kochavi said at the event: "We did not choose by chance to hold this day in the city of Ashkelon, we wanted to hold this day of strengthening physical culture and combat fitness as a clear expression of our standing together - the city and IDF commanders, not in fighting but in a big hug. "We have conducted and conducted ourselves over the years with an emphasis on Operation 'The Guardian of the Walls.'
