Since the beginning of October, the federal police have picked up a total of 1,270 illegally entered people in Saxony at the German-Polish border.
"The people entered Germany without a required visa or were smuggled in," said the Pirna Federal Police Department on Tuesday.
After the necessary police measures, they were handed over to the initial reception facilities.
Pirna - Those affected come mainly from Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan, it said.
According to the Federal Police Headquarters in Potsdam, a total of 4,246 illegally entered people were found at the German-Polish border from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania via Brandenburg to Saxony in October.
"There are currently no signs of an easing of the situation," the Presidium announced on Monday.
