Huge queues were recorded at the entrance to gas stations in the capital Tehran and other cities in the country • Last week a power plant exploded near one of the important ports in Iran

Long queues were recorded near gas stations across Iran, after a nationwide malfunction was caused at refueling terminals, as a result of a cyber attack, the local news agency Tasanim reported.

The head of Iran's defense establishment, General Golmarza Jalili, blamed Israel for the attack and said that "it is the Zionists who are behind the severe disruptions in the fuel distribution system."

Social media surfers have photographed frustrated refuelers alongside non-working fuel pumps and long traffic queues on the highways in the capital Tehran.

The Thatsanim news agency reported that authorities had reported a nationwide malfunction but did not confirm that the cause was a cyber attack.

However, another security source confirmed to the agency that it was indeed an attack on hackers.
