Iran renewed its refusal to politicize human rights issues and use them as a tool against independent countries.
In her response to the report of the UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Iran Javed Rehman, Ambassador and Assistant Representative of Iran to the United Nations Zahra Ershadi said, "Such reports, by refusing to engage and dialogue on human rights, come in the context of criticizing the targeted country," noting that appointing a special rapporteur for Iran is considered An unjust and politically motivated project planned by the West in the context of its hostile stance against the Iranian people.
Irshadi described the report as “a fake play that seeks to suggest concern for human rights in Iran, while those behind it remain silent about the US’s unilateral, illegal and inhuman coercive measures against Iran,” noting that the Special Rapporteur is still reluctant to condemn such coercive measures or even express concern about them.
Irshadi added that the use of ambiguous and unofficial sources by enemies and a selective approach to human rights achievements in Iran raises a major question mark about the credibility and reliability of such reports, explaining that Iran continues its constructive cooperation with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and human rights mechanisms at the United Nations and with other human rights mechanisms in the United Nations. countries in order to defend and raise their level.
