The left parliamentary group in the Berlin House of Representatives will also be led by Anne Helm and Carsten Schatz in the new legislative period.
At a parliamentary group meeting on Tuesday, a majority of the MPs voted for both politicians, who have held office since June 2020.
According to a parliamentary group spokesman, Helm got around 75 percent approval, Schatz around 79 percent.
Berlin - Neither of them had opposing candidates.
Helm (35) used to be a member of the Pirate Party and has represented the left in the House of Representatives since 2016.
In the legislative period that was coming to an end, she also acted as spokesman for the parliamentary group for strategies against the right.
Schatz (51) has been a member of the state parliament since 2013 and was also the last spokesman for the anti-discrimination parliamentary group.

Five days after the state elections in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the first exploratory discussion between the election winner SPD and the CDU will take place this Friday.

The new AfD parliamentary group in the state parliament re-elected its chairman Nikolaus Kramer after a four-hour session.
Kramer's preferred candidate for the post of Parliamentary Managing Director, Thomas de Jesus Fernandes, on the other hand, had to admit defeat to MP Thore Stein.
"The majority of the parliamentary group decided differently and of course - as it should be - I support this majority decision," said Kramer on Friday after the election.

The left make up the fourth largest parliamentary group in the new state parliament with 24 members.
The party is currently negotiating with the SPD and the Greens to continue the coalition formed in 2016.
