Last year, the Leonhardiffahrt fell victim to the corona pandemic.

This year the city decided to let Ross and Reiter go through the city center on Saturday, October 30th.

Fürstenfeldbruck - This is how the people of Bruck honor St. Leonhard.

The festive procession is rounded off in the evening with a Hoagart in the event forum.

In 1743 there was also a cattle epidemic in Fürstenfeldbruck. The citizens begged St. Leonhard - the patron saint of animals - for help and vowed to celebrate a votive office when the epidemic passed. They have been keeping their promise since 1966 with the Leonhardi trip at the end of October. Dressed up horses, festively decorated chest and motif wagons, carriages, marching bands and marching bands will roam the streets. The participation is as high as before the pandemic, reports Jürgen Schröter, who organizes the trip in the town hall. "The participants are happy that they can drive again."

The votive office begins at 1.30 p.m. in front of the Leonhardikirche.

Afterwards, all participants - with two and four legs - will be blessed.

Then the pageant starts moving around 2.30 p.m.

The visitors are asked to line up along the entire parade route.

A general mask requirement due to corona - this had been considered - does not apply.

"We recommend wearing a medical face mask on Hauptstrasse if you cannot keep a distance of 1.5 meters," says Jürgen Schröter.

Road closures

For the Leonhardiffahrt, parts of the city center must be closed between 11.30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

A diversion is signposted.

Kirchstrasse can be reached via Gartenstrasse and Weiherstrasse, and Bullachstrasse can be reached through the library courtyard and the city park.

The bus stops in the restricted area are not approached, information is available on the website www.lra-ffb.de.

The taxi stands will be relocated to Maisacher Strasse.

Part of the fairground will be separated so that pedestrians and drivers do not come into conflict with horses and riders.

The barrier post on Dr.-Lorenz-Lampl-Straße will be removed so that visitors can park in the rest of the space.

The Hoagart

To round off the event, there will be the Leonhardi-Hoagart with folk music on Saturday from 7 p.m. in the event forum.

The “Bavarian Jazz Trio” around saxophonist Hugo Siegmeth, the “Maxjoseph” quartet and the “Boarisch Roass” sextet play in the small hall.

Tickets at a price of 17 euros are available in advance from the Fürstenfeld card service on (0 81 41) 6 66 54 44 and on the website www.reservix.de.
