At MAN there are inconsistencies due to the departure of the works council boss and the HR director.

You should continue to receive high payments without a basis.

Munich - MAN does not come to rest.

The truck manufacturer, which is in crisis, only recently announced that it would cut 7,000 jobs in Germany, and the main plant in Munich could also be affected.

Now the

Business Insider

(BI)

reports of

another scandal in the company.

The focus is, among other things, on the resignation of the powerful works council chairman Athanasios Stimoniaris, who gave up his offices with immediate effect at the end of August for “personal reasons”.

Golden handshakes at MAN: termination agreement should contain high payments

This supposedly voluntary retreat is sweetened with a lot of money.

Because according to the termination agreement, Stimoniaris is to receive hundreds of thousands of euros from MAN in the coming years.

Several people familiar with the process confirmed this to the

BI

.

A company spokesman did not deny such an agreement, but did not want to comment on the background to the online portal.

Stimoniaris was a powerful and controversial person at MAN.

The annual salary of the head of the works council, including bonus payments, should amount to more than 150,000 euros.

There is also an Audi TT as a company car.

That is not all.

Because of numerous supervisory board mandates, another 50,000 euros should have flowed into his account.

Golden handshakes at MAN: Ex-works council boss in the sights of the compliance department

The withdrawal from Stimoniaris was, after all, not entirely voluntary.

Several years ago, anonymous reports of illegal privileges granted to the head of the works council led to compliance proceedings in the VW Group, on whose supervisory board he sat.

However, nothing reliable was found.

But a few months ago, MAN's compliance department started investigating again.

One allegation was that Stimoniaris had unofficially used a colleague from the works council as a chauffeur.

Shortly afterwards, he left the company.

Golden handshakes at MAN: The HR director should actually take parental leave

But Stimoniaris is not the only one who was bid farewell with a golden handshake.

According to

BI

, Martin Rabe, who took care of the Stimoniaris' termination agreement, also concluded a termination agreement with the MAN supervisory board.

This should also contain corresponding payment obligations to the ex-top manager.

A press spokesman wanted to comment on this, especially since MAN had stated in a press release that Rabe only wanted to take parental leave for a few months.

After Stimoniari and Rabe, the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of MAN and CEO of the VW truck holding Traton, Matthias Gründler, also vacated his post.
