Münsing

- Minister of State Kerstin Schreyer (CSU) brought a large, symbolic check for 1.2 million euros to Münsing on Friday.

With the sum, the Free State is subsidizing the construction of the new community center.

At a ceremony in the community hall, the Minister for Housing, Construction and Transport presented Münsing's Mayor Michael Grasl with funding.

In the coming years, further partial amounts are to follow, a total of more than three million euros. The architectural competition, the demolition of the old Pallaufhof, the hall and the underground car park as well as the outdoor facilities were and are funded. During her visit, Schreyer first visited the large construction site and then got an idea of the 21.5 million euro project while looking at the model in the community hall, created by the architects Peck and Damm. In 2018 they won the competition for the community center with town hall, and the groundbreaking ceremony took place this summer.

The winning design is not imposing, said Grasl. The elongated building with the quiet roof and the wooden facade is rather an addition to the church opposite and the rectory in the west. The architecture takes up that of the multi-award-winning residential buildings in the south. Parallel to the construction of the community center, Münsing is upgrading its village center as part of the Integrated Urban Development Concept (ISEK).

The community is doing common cause here with Eurasburg, which is why town hall chief Moritz Sappl came.

For example, Eurasburger clubs should later prefer to use the rooms and the hall of the community center next to the Münsingern.

“We have to think away from the church tower,” said Grasl.

Kerstin Schreyer emphasized the importance of social interaction.

Especially after the Corona crisis, there is a lot of catching up to do here.

“So it's good if we also look at the neighbors,” she said.

The Free State has been promoting urban development for 50 years, and since then 6.9 billion euros have been distributed in Bavaria, both in large cities and in rural areas.

“We want to promote encounters, stimulate the economy and support beautiful architecture,” said the minister.

The budget committee of the state parliament, represented on Friday by the CSU constituency member Martin Bachhuber, ensures that the funds are made available.

District Administrator Josef Niedermaier also attended the handover of the check.
