Nawaf Masalha, a Knesset member of the Labor Party and Deputy Minister of Health and Foreign Affairs in the Rabin and Barak governments, passed away this morning (Tuesday) at the age of 77.
Masalha was born in 1943 in Kafr Qara, studied at Tel Aviv University, and was a teacher by profession.
He was elected to the 12th Knesset on behalf of the Alignment faction, served in the Knesset for 14 years and was the head of the Arab sector in the Labor Party and in one Israel.

He who presented himself as a "believer in the way of compromise" and acted in this belief throughout his years as a public messenger with the aim of connecting and uniting the Arab and Jewish public.
