Israeli Pride:
NBC's streaming service "Peacock" announced last night (Monday) the production of a new crime drama by David E.Kelly ("Eli Makbil"), which will be based on the novel by Israeli writer Dror Mishani, "Absent Case."
The series, which will be called in English "The Missing File", tells the story of a police officer in the New York police force named Avraham, who finds himself on a journey of spiritual self-discovery.
"Peacock" has commissioned eight episodes of the series, which will be produced in collaboration between Keshet Studios and the television division of Universal Studios.
"Dror's affair fascinated me," Kelly said in a press release.
"And also the character of Avraham Avraham, and I jumped at the chance to bring their story to life."
"Missing Case" was first published in Israel in 2011, and in 2013 was translated into English.
The book is the first in a series of novels that follows the exploits of Detective Avraham Avraham.
In 2019, his books "Missing Case" and "Possibility of Violence", which was released in 2013, were adapted into an eight-episode television series called "Missing Case", directed by Oved Davidoff and co-produced by Here 11 and Rainbow 12.
Dror Mishani is an Israeli writer who specializes in the genre of detective literature.
