Gauting's evangelical community wants to give up the sponsorship of the church kindergarten - and thus causes displeasure.

Pastor Andrea Borger now announces a public exchange.

Gauting

- There is great excitement about the two-group Protestant kindergarten in Gauting. Because the church council is not only discussing a new three-group daycare center with a second house for staff apartments, but also the future sponsorship - both of which are not open to the public. The complained former mayor Dr. Ekkehard Knobloch opposite the Starnberg Mercury. On Sunday, Prof. Frank Höpner gave Pastor Klaus Firnschild-Steuer a list of signatures, Knobloch said. Because numerous members of the parish think it is not in order for the board to discuss the topic of sponsorship of the kindergarten “without public” - and they want the church to remain the sponsor. "Aunt Thea", the legendary kindergarten teacher, was appalled.

The preliminary request for a new three-group daycare center, which was already approved by the holiday committee in spring 2020, has also been "top secret" so far, according to the former mayor.

Parents' adviser Katharina Geiger criticizes the “lack of transparency” about the planned project after the demolition of the two ground-floor low-rise buildings in need of renovation from 1961.

Before today's closed church board meeting, parents will therefore give the representatives an open letter.

One would like an education “in the Christian sense”.

In the absence of information, the radio station “Radio Gauting” caused great unrest among the parents.

"These are all complex considerations," emphasized pastor Andrea Borger, who is responsible for the kindergarten.

No more grants from the regional church

The regional church no longer pays subsidies for the old building, because: according to the law, daycare centers are “a communal task,” explained Bogner. That is why the board has been considering "for a long time" to hand over the small kindergarten to a larger provider. The church will continue to organize the annual festivals. Because finances are tight, the 6500 square meter church-owned property with the listed Christ Church on Lindenallee, with Walter Hildmann's and rectory, must in any case be "better utilized". As soon as the goals are clear, there will be a public discussion, the pastor announced.

Nine of the 45 children are Protestant.

A small kindergarten is simply no longer economical these days, said Kristin Groß-Stolte, confidante of the church council.

In contrast to the solvent municipality of Graefelfing, Gauting does not pay the daycare centers any deficit compensation.

Because of a sponsorship, the church council is also in discussion with the Diakonisches Werk Fürstenfeldbruck.

This already runs the evangelical kindergartens Krailling, Gilching and Planegg, but also the after-school care center of the Gautingen elementary school, which is directly opposite.

Gross-Stolte rejects rumors that the daycare site will be sold to an investor: "We are not allowed to sell church property, we are obliged to preserve it."
