The construction of wind turbines in Baden-Württemberg has collapsed.
The approval process is long and the protest is loud.
Now a task force is supposed to scrutinize the laws and bureaucracy and see where, how and by when something could be changed.
Stuttgart - With a "task force" made up of experts and office managers, the state government wants to accelerate the expansion of renewable energies and at least halve the length of the year-long planning process for wind turbines.
The cabinet wants to decide on the plans of Environment Minister Thekla Walker (Greens) on Tuesday and then present details at 12 noon.
The task force is primarily to implement measures with which more wind turbines can be built.
These include, among other things, simpler approval procedures, changes to the law and an award campaign for the leasing of land in the state forest.
This can be seen from the paper that the dpa has received.

Baden-Württemberg has not made particularly good progress in expanding wind power over the past ten years.
At the end of 2020, only 731 systems were in operation in the southwest, which is just 12 more than in the previous year.
For comparison: There are more than 6350 wind turbines in Lower Saxony.
It currently takes between six and seven years for a wind farm to be in place.
