About two weeks after the riot in front of the home of the North Rhine-Westphalian Interior Minister Herbert Reul (CDU) in Leichlingen, the police have now identified three suspects.
As can be seen from a template for the interior committee of the Düsseldorf state parliament, a total of 13 masked people were present at the action at the beginning of October.
Among other things, they would have chanted "Reul, piss off" and ignited pyrotechnics.
Neighbors had therefore made videos of the incident on October 10th.
The records are now being evaluated, according to the report, which the Greens and AfD had applied for separately.
Only then could one say whether and what specifically one could accuse the three accused.
In the meantime, Reul has filed a criminal complaint for insult.
In addition, the pyrotechnics are also being investigated.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, 162 police officers were on duty around Reul's house.
An investigative group called "Bengalo" had been set up at the Cologne State Security Service.
"The three accused have already appeared in the field of left-wing politically motivated crime," wrote the ministry in the report that will be published on Thursday and from which the German Press Agency (dpa) cited in advance.
There were no indications of a specific left-wing extremist group or the demonstration alliance »Stop the Assembly Act NRW« in the case of the three identified.
The alliance protests against the planned assembly law in North Rhine-Westphalia, with which assemblies are to be more easily restricted.
Initially, a connection between the incident and protests against the planned law was suspected.
