Spain authorizes booster doses in vaccinated with Johnson & Johnson

The Public Health Commission in Spain approved offering a booster dose to those who received the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.


USA: Recommend booster doses of J&J 3:21 vaccine

(CNN Spanish) -

The Public Health Commission in Spain approved this Tuesday to offer a booster dose to those who received the Janssen single-dose vaccine.

According to data from the Ministry of Health, as of this Tuesday there are around two million people who have been administered this drug.

The extra dose will be administered with one of the mRNA drugs, that is, with either the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine.

To receive it, as reported by the Ministry of Health, three months must pass after the administration of the Janssen vaccine.

It is contemplated that the autonomous communities can begin to administer this booster as of November 15, although they must do so following the order of vaccination groups that are established in the National Vaccination Strategy.

Until this Tuesday, 78.5% of the Spanish population, more than 37 million people, have received the complete vaccination schedule with any of the drugs authorized by the European Medicines Agency.
