The largest block of expenditure is earmarked for the healthcare system at 975 million euros.
The money is to be used to implement pandemic research projects and to purchase large equipment for hospitals.
According to Radio Brocken, 91.5 million euros should be set for the last point alone.
The government also wants to do something in the area of health management: Rooms in schools, universities, non-university institutions and public buildings are to be equipped with mobile or permanently installed air filter systems.
“We want to implement this within a short period of time, that is five to seven years,” says Richter.
From the eighth year onwards, repayments have to be made, “with 100 million euros per year.
As things stand today, that is a realistic scenario ”.

The CDU, SPD and FDP have anchored the Corona special fund in the coalition agreement.
Originally a volume of 1.5 billion euros was agreed, but the coalition had kept an increase open.
If there is "a higher need for expenses that are understandably due to the corona, we will increase this amount accordingly," says the coalition agreement.
After the decision by the cabinet, the state parliament is to deal with the supplementary budget in November.
