Petershausen

- Richter has worked as a teacher and headmaster for many decades. "It feels like half of all Kollbachers went to school with him," says Josef Gerer, chairman of 1. FC Kollbach and the Kollbach village community, who himself went to school at Richter. Because from 1954, when he took up his first position as an assistant teacher in Kollbach, Richter was a teacher and headmaster in Kollbach until 1968, then initially a teacher and from 1972 until his retirement then rector of the Petershausen elementary school.

"With great humanity, admirable caution and tireless commitment, Mr. Richter shaped school life," writes Mayor Marcel Fath in the community's obituary.

Born in the Giant Mountains, Manfred Richter experienced expropriation, deportation and resettlement of the family as a teenager, who finally found shelter in Franconia.

After training as a teacher, he came to Kollbach, where he has lived with his wife Anni and his family ever since.

But Manfred Richter was not only a committed educator and school man, he was also active on a voluntary basis in a wide variety of ways.

He was a local councilor from 1996 to 2002, and was a lay judge for four years.

He was also involved in the parish, for twelve years he was a member of the parish council and just as long in the deanery council and diocesan council.

He was also very committed to the Kollbach clubs. At the shooting club Gemütlichkeit Kollbach, where he joined in 1954, Richter was not only secretary for a long time, he also wrote the chronicle and has been an honorary member since 2005. "Manfred Richter was a 1000 percent Kollbecker and club life was very important to him," says board member Hermann Kiermeir. And he supported the founding of the 1. FC Kollbach sports club from the very beginning, "he was an encouragement for the club's founders at the time," says board member Josef Gerer. When the floodlights were missing on the first soccer field, "Fred said, put up a couple of light poles, you can get the electricity from my living room nearby". The Christmas celebrations of 1.He has shaped FC over three decades "in an inimitable way with his verses and poems." Richter also infected his entire family with his enthusiasm, "all Richters are members of the association". Not only the sports club mourned Manfred Richter, "but the whole town of Kollbach," stressed Gerer. “Because in his heart he was a Kollbacher through and through and became a veteran of our place.” Manfred Richter was also there at parties, says Gerer. "Whenever something has happened socially in Kollbach: Fred and his Anni were there."“Because in his heart he was a Kollbacher through and through and became a veteran of our place.” Manfred Richter was also there at parties, says Gerer. With all this commitment, Manfred Richter still found the time for hunting, mountain hiking and bike tours.

Manfred Richter was also a family man.

He leaves behind his wife Anni, six children, twelve grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
