Two of the defendants applied to the High Court for bail today (26th). After hearing the submissions, the judge designated by the National Security Law, Li Yunteng, refused to allow the two defendants to be released on bail.


The 7 defendants are: 16-year-old Ruan, middle six male, Cai Yongjie (20-year-old warehouse clerk), 15-year-old girl, 16-year old Liang surnamed sixth-grade girl, Chen Youjin (25-year-old, male salesperson), 16-year-old middle five boy , And Guo Wenxi (18 years old, sixth form female).

They are accused of conspiring together and conspiring with others in Hong Kong from January 10, 2021 to May 6, 2021, inciting others to organize, plan, implement or participate in the implementation of the following use of force, threat of use of force or other Illegal means aimed at subverting state power, namely: (1) overthrow and undermine the fundamental system of the People’s Republic of China established by the Constitution of the People’s Republic of China; (2) overthrow the central government organs of the People’s Republic of China or the power organs of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region.

The case was heard again in the West Kowloon Court on November 3, pending the preparation of documents for referral to the District Court.
