Following the shocking inscription on the tombstone blaming Beilinson Hospital for the murder of Corona patient, many hospitals including Sheba, Ichilov, Assuta Ashdod, Soroka, Rambam and others, seek to identify and strengthen their colleagues in Beilinson. A viral photo posted and circulated on social media shows a gravestone in the Yarkon Cemetery of a woman who died after falling ill in Corona, with the caption: "Murdered by Beilinson Hospital in Corona Department."
The woman, 71, died about a month ago after not being vaccinated.
The caption on the tombstone reads "The name will be a dummy".
The hospital filed a complaint with the police about incitement to violence against the hospital staff.
"Dear hospital spokesmen, you have moved us greatly with the post you have uploaded!", Beilinson said in response to the tribute.
"Along with the ongoing struggle in Corona, we have to deal with another front of an extreme discourse that we have not yet known. Thanks to your determined support, we will stand one solid front in favor of a public discourse that respects professional and dedicated medical practice in Israel," they added.
The initiative was led by employees at Sheba Hospital, and they harnessed the rest of the hospitals.
"When I saw the photo of the tombstone in the newspapers, I felt immense pain as if a sword had been stuck in me," said Prof. Gili Regev, director of the Sheba Infection Prevention and Control Unit.
"I did not know the case or anyone from Beilinson, but the feeling was that it was directed at all of us - the entire medical establishment. So together with Sheba Hospital spokeswomen we initiated this move, which aims to tell Beilinson colleagues that we are with them and understand the importance of the work we do."
"We have been at the forefront of this war for two years, fighting for the health of the hospitalized, and in the end someone who refuses vaccines, who not only harms himself but also harms those around him, turns his anger violently and harshly towards the medical staff," Regev stressed.
"We know that when someone dies there are agitated people who vent their anger on the medical establishment, but putting that on the tombstone is shocking violence."
