The National House of National Books Theater in Aleppo hosted the theatrical performance The Octopus, written and represented by Omar Nehme and directed by Fatima Jarukh, as part of the activities of the third day of the Third Youth Monodrama Festival.

The director of the work indicated in a statement to SANA reporter that the show embodies the suffering of a young man from psychological problems and complexes that are embodied by symptoms that prevent him from sleeping due to nightmares that haunt him as if they are an octopus tying his neck and reminding him of his painful past as a result of the harassment he was exposed to in his childhood until he developed a psychological complex that developed into a state of schizophrenia and delusions.

Jarukh expressed her feeling of pride in such festivals that concern young people and provide them with the opportunity to make their mark and prove their competence through the stage.

The author and hero of the work expressed his happiness with this experience with an important message, indicating the role of parents in the success of their children on the social level, pointing to the training and the great effort he made until he was able to reap the fruits of his theatrical work the octopus.

Among the attendees, Atef Houry pointed out the role of Syrian youth in providing a qualitative artistic leap through the theater to send a message to the world in which they affirm their role on the cultural level.

As part of the festival's activities, the play The Black Hole, written by Duha Assaf, represented by Waad Al-Razzouk and directed by Jamal Khallou, will be presented on the stage of the National Library.
