"Children come when they want" - unplanned for some families, long-awaited for others.
But this story is a very special one.
More and more people are sharing their stories on social platforms like Instagram.
Whether it is about bad accidents, death or even nice stories: there is always someone who has gone through something similar.
This is also the case with Erin and her partner Matt.
Since 2012, the two tried to have a child.
Erin publishes her thoughts, successes and setbacks on her Instagram account “journeytothree_ivf”.
When the two of them still did not work after many attempts, they had themselves examined.
The diagnosis came as a shock to both of them: Erin suffers from what is known as Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.
A pregnancy through normal fertilization is almost completely impossible.
The couple tried artificial insemination, Erin also became pregnant six times, but lost all six children while pregnant.

Erin shared all of this with the world through her Instagram account.
So did the surprising news that one of her best friends Rachel agreed to support the couple as a surrogate mother.
The procedure worked and on the 2017 Christmas card, the happy parents could already be seen with ultrasound images of the little baby.
Another American influencer had her child carried by her own mother without further ado.
During her pregnancy, Erin visited her friend regularly to get as much of this time as possible.
When it started in September 2018, the couple couldn't wait.
Despite the two and a half hour drive to Rachel's place of residence, the two arrived in time to experience the magical moments of the birth.

Even today, Erin remembers that moment full of enthusiasm: “The memory of her warm body on mine when I held her for the first time.
The memory of her first screams when she was born was the most beautiful sound. ”The little girl bears the name of Erin's father, who had died two years earlier.
And not only: Little Scottie was also born on her grandfather's birthday.

Today Scottie is three years old and Erin's Instagram pictures speak of pure family happiness.
Again and again she reminds of what a miracle her little girl is.
Erin will probably never forget this unusual service of friendship for the surrogate mother Rachel.
“We are still so infinitely grateful for everything you did for our family,” the mother writes under a picture of the two.
