Joffrey Gilliano, who plays the character of "VIP 4" was seen filmed in an old video behaving rudely in a supermarket in Thailand, which caused a storm of reactions

Does reality mimic the imagination?

Actor Joffrey Gilliano, who shone as the character of "VIP 4" in the seventh episode of "The Squid Game", has been documented behaving insolently and racistly in a supermarket in Thailand - and the network is buzzing.

While the outrageous incident occurred in August 2017, long before the anonymous Mr Gilliano gained his 15 minutes of fame thanks to the South Korean hit series, a video documenting it was redistributed online and recently made headlines again.

In a video filmed by Gilliano, who has appeared to this day mainly in Asian productions, commercials and a handful of negligible films - a shopping editor at a supermarket in the city of Pattaya.

The mess began when a local customer documented the 63-year-old American actor being shamelessly pushed in line for a quick checkout and creating a commotion.

"He came out of nowhere and stood in front of me in line," explained the person who filmed the video.

"It was a checkout for only ten products, but he threw 25 items on the conveyor belt."

But this is just the beginning.

After customers commented to the player, he "lost" it completely.

The actor began cursing, blabbering on about being "American and doing what he wants, because Americans are the kings of the world," adding that the camera did not deter him "because he is an actor" and provided more gems.

Gilliano eventually left the store with his shopping cart as one man.

Although this is an old video, the success of "The Squid Game" flooded it again, and the angry reactions were not long in coming.

"Are you allowed to bypass people in line just because you are American?", One surfer wondered, while another commenter did not spare criticism, claiming that "this is a typical white American who thinks he and his country are better than everyone else."

A third respondent, who in our opinion scored a bull, thought that "he is exactly the same person he plays in the series, and acts like a VIP in real life."

In addition to acting, Gilliano has written about 20 books on music and is recognized as an expert on the Beatles.
