After a massive attack against a 20-year-old woman in a Berlin hostel, the trial against her former partner has begun.
The 24-year-old is charged with attempted murder.
Because he could not get over the termination of the relationship, he went to the woman who was living in a hostel at the time and insidiously attacked her, according to the prosecutor.

The defendant, who comes from Serbia and who last lived in North Rhine-Westphalia, is said to have strangled his former girlfriend in April of this year with two mobile phone charging cables.
The indictment said he pulled so tight that she couldn't breathe.
When she defended herself with blows and kicks, he took her into a headlock and stabbed her in the left side of the neck with a knife with the intention of killing her.
The woman was critically injured.
