The terrorist Muhammad Kabha was convicted today (Wednesday) of the murder of Esther Horgan in the Reihan forest almost a year ago.
The killer was arrested four days after the act and convicted according to his confession in the military court in the Salem camp, when he also confessed to the act during the interrogation.
According to the indictment, Kabha decided to carry out the attack after the death of the terrorist Kamal Abu Yaar from cancer in a prison in Israel.
It should be noted that close to his death, the Palestinian Authority raised the incitement against Israel, claiming that it had medically neglected the imprisoned terrorists.
After Kabha's visit to the Reihan Forest Reserve, he saw Israeli-Jews there and decided that the place was suitable for carrying out an attack.
"On the morning of December 20, while the defendant was picking mushrooms in the Reihan forest, in the part near the settlement of Tal Menashe, the defendant came out of the trees and noticed Esther Horgan walking down the path. Her death intentionally motivated by a nationalist and carried out the attack he planned.
"The defendant ran after the deceased for about 15 meters until he reached her, grabbed her with both hands behind her back, pulled her with her elbows while shouting and threw her at stones he noticed on the side of the path. "The deceased continued to shout, resisting with her hands and feet and trying to get up. In response, the defendant picked up a large stone and hit her on the head.
At this point the terrorist dragged her about three feet into a thicket of trees, to hide his actions.
When he reached the tangle he took another stone and hit it on the head again and after making sure that he was not alive he fled the scene.
As mentioned, today the terrorist was convicted of his actions.
In view of his conviction, the Horgan family said that "the terrorist should serve his sentence in full severity and rot behind bars until the end of his life. "Killing and paying huge sums to terrorists and their families after the fact. Prosecuting PA chiefs personally for sending and paying mercenaries to murder Jews will perhaps constitute a more significant deterrent and prevent or at least reduce the chances of the next murder."
Lt. Col. (Res.) Advocate Maurice Hirsch, representing the Horgan family, added, "The vile terrorist who murdered Esther did not act in a vacuum.
We call on the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense to change their policy and take action against senior PA officials who incite the murder of Jews and the elimination of PA policies to pay compensation to terrorists.
The legal infrastructure already exists, now only the will to act is required. "
