The actor Arved Birnbaum has died.
He was known, among other things, for his role in Cologne's “Tatort”.
Cologne - The actor Arved Birnbaum died on Sunday, October 24th at the age of 59 after a short serious illness in the Cologne University Hospital.
His wife Sabine Birnbaum confirmed this to the dpa on Tuesday.

Born in Lusatia, he began his career on stage, playing for five years at the Stuttgart State Theater and at the Grillo Theater in Essen.
It wasn't until 1997 that he switched to film.
Here he was often cast in shady roles.
In August of this year, TV viewers saw him in the ZDF series “A case for two” as a dubious animal dealer.
In 2015 he was a scheming innkeeper in the thriller series "Weinberg" (TNT series).
In the "Lindenstrasse" he played a neo-Nazi.
Arved Birnbaum was known as Hauptmeister Heinz Obst from the Cologne "Tatort"
In the Cologne "Tatort", however, he was a police officer, in several cases played the main master Heinz Obst.
In 2010, Birnbaum also worked on Dominik Graf's multi-part series “In the face of crime”.
“The culmination of his acting career began with getting to know Dominik Graf, who cast him for several of his productions,” Birnbaum's agency recalled.
