Engineer Musa Zeidan, director of the Water Projects Company branch in Homs, indicated that the company has completed many important projects, while work continues on many projects, indicating that the value of the works planned to be completed during the third quarter of this year is about 498 million pounds, while the value of the completed works amounted to 567 million, with an implementation rate It amounted to about 114 percent.
In a statement to SANA Economic Bulletin, Zeidan touched on the most prominent implemented projects, including the project to construct the Wadi Al-War dam in Al-Nabek, with a contract value of 718 million, and the project aims to stave off torrential rains coming from the valley towards Al-Nabek, and a project to remove debris from the neighborhoods of Bab Al-Dreeb, Bab Sba`, Al-Wa`er, Deir Baalba, and the industrial area. Completing the replacement of part of the plumbing line for the Sadad water network, with the aim of providing potable water to the townspeople in accordance with the best health conditions.
He said: Works are continuing on several projects, including the Abu Houri treatment plant project with a contract value of more than 1.8 billion pounds, which aims to reduce pollution in the Orontes Basin area and benefit from treated water for irrigation. And benefiting from it in irrigation works and converting lands from rainfed to irrigated, in addition to continuing work on the sewage project for the artisanal area in Al-Sayed, pointing out that the implementation of the service road for the Abu Houri treatment plant has begun.
